Intriguingest Pie Recipe du Jour CXCI

Pie is one of the most beautiful words in the English language.  Pregnant with endless tasty opportunities -- be it sweet or savory, gloopy or refined; it can please just about any palate.

For me, the apex of piedom is the rhubarb pie.  It rides that fence between sweet and tart; and, when married with vanilla ice cream, it creates a holy union that is truly God-blessed.

Over time, pie has become quintessentially American.  Consequently (and the merits of this notwithstanding), what, then, could be more American than a pie recipe from the White House -- especially (happily for me) a rhubard pie recipe!
